Jumbo Records

Jumbo Records is a longstanding record shop and institution; the store has been at heart of the Leeds music scene since opening in 1971. Jumbo has just recently moved to its fourth location in the Merrion Centre in Leeds City Centre.

The Challenge

Jumbo’s signs are synonymous with their brand, so they wanted to move them to their new premises. Working with Oblong Furniture we were asked to remove the existing signs and re-install them at the new shop, plus install large graphics to the first floor glass that overlook Merrion Street.

The Solution

We carefully took down the current signage and reinstalled it on the new interior shop front. We also added vinyl window graphics to the exterior second story windows on the outside of the Merrion centre so that Jumbo can be easily spotted from the street outside.

As Jumbo Records is something of a local landmark, we are really pleased to have helped preserve their fantastic signature shop front and the end result is a smart new store for the people of Leeds to enjoy.
