Do You Need to Be Tech-Savvy to Operate a Digital Sign?

Digital signs are the fast and effective way of sharing up-to-date messages with your customers, prospects and employees. Investing in one gives you the ability to display everything from menus, prices and offers, to adverts and videos, all from one place.

We’re drawn to bright, moving images, so digital signage is a great way of getting your messages seen by more people. However, to access this potential, you need to be able to add and change the content of your display and this can make some businesses think twice.

Often, we’ll hear people say ‘I’m not very technical and I don’t have any IT support. Will I still be able to use a digital sign?’ And the simple answer is ‘yes’ – for a couple of important reasons.

1. Uploading new content is made simple

Digital signs have been designed to be as user-friendly as possible. One way of uploading content is via a Wi-Fi connection. This means you can send content wirelessly to your screens, instantly, from anywhere. Simply log in and upload your new files from the comfort of your office, home or mobile device.

If you don’t have any Wi-Fi access, the other option is a simple ‘plug and play’ feature where you add your files via a USB port, hidden discreetly behind the screen. Both methods are easy to follow and your installation team should be able to provide you with a full demonstration once they’ve set-up your screen(s).

2. Get help creating and updating your content

Most businesses don’t have regular access to a graphic design team, but that doesn’t mean they can’t create fresh content and still keep their costs to a minimum.

Firstly, most digital signage comes with software that allows you to produce simple designs from pre-built layouts and templates. This means you can create up-to-date displays and advertisements in-house, without relying on costly design support each time.
