When a business has over 230 years of history, it requires a show stopping renovation!
FASTSIGNS® Bristol had the privilege of teaming up with the fantastic Raselle Gold to help them with their rebrand and completely revitalize their Stapleton Road shop. A space with so much local heritage comes with a unique responsibility and challenge; ensuring the new look reflects centuries of trust whilst also projecting a fresh, upmarket vibe.
The Goal
Raselle wanted a clean, bold look to turn heads on the high street while creating an inviting, high-end atmosphere inside. In line with their rebrand, we focused on a simple colour way, opting for classic black and matte gold to make a clear statement on who they are and what they do. Keeping the design story simple, we focused on written information and finished with some gold framing to tie everything together.
The Play
Our areas of focus were the large scale external banner, the external fascia signs, and the internal panelling.
The original banner was very faded, with simple text (though quite a lot of it), and none of the businesses' contact information.
We upgraded this to a sleek black banner, including a contact number and a QR code to keep things simple. Less than half the words for more than double the impact.
We paired this with new fascia signage, carrying through the striking simplicity of the banner. We printed and laminated the full signs, and laid them up on ACM (a lightweight aluminium composite sheet) to create a sleek finish.
To upgrade their windows, we installed printed vinyl window graphics, detailing what services Raselle offers. This combined with the banner and new fascia sign really gives the shop front a united and completed feel.
Using the same motif for the internal signs, we ensured a comprehensive brand identity through the building.
The Challenge
The main challenge with this project was installation. Located on busy Stapleton Road, the banner and external front signage required a cherry picker for access, requiring permissions and planning to ensure we weren’t disrupting the street or endangering pedestrians. Luckily, we’re no strangers to complicated access, and Alex is happy up in a bucket!
The Result
We are incredibly proud of how this project came together, blending centuries of history with cutting-edge signage design. A huge thank you to the team at Raselle for trusting us with their home!
