Custom Illumination Creates a Picture-Perfect Wedding Venue
The Challenge
The Moorlands Inn needed a comprehensive exterior signage upgrade, that matched the elegance of the high-end events its hosts. The project carried a deeply personal significance: the owners’ daughter was set to be married there in early August, leaving the FASTSIGNS® team with a strict two-week deadline, to ensure the property was "camera-ready." Beyond the time constraints, the project involved complex structural hurdles, including a unique triangular fascia and large LED signs, that threatened to exceed weight capacities.
The Solution
To meet these challenges, the design team utilised custom CAD engineering, to develop a bespoke triangular tray for a sign, to functionally welcome visitors. Precise measurement and advanced folding techniques ensured the tray maintained a sharp, seamless profile, while hidden fixings were engineered directly into the roof timber, for maximum stability. To address the weight of the large circular signs, FASTSIGNS’ fabricators implemented a "clear path" technique, on the rear of the panels. By removing non-structural material, they reduced the weight to meet safety tolerances, without compromising LED performance or the front-facing aesthetics.
The installation featured five sets of in-house manufactured built-up letters, featuring halo illumination to provide visibility after sunset. Complementing these focal points, various post-mounted signs and panels were installed to guide guests through the bistro and venue grounds. By streamlining workflow, the team managed to move from design to the final steps quickly.
The Result
The Moorlands Inn was transformed into a glowing landmark, just in time for the wedding. The halo-lit letters and custom signage identified the venue and elevated its prestige, providing a stunning backdrop for the special occasion. The owners were thrilled that the project was completed in time, ensuring the venue looked its absolute best for their family members and guests alike. This high-impact revitalisation has solidified the Inn’s reputation as a top-tier destination for weddings and dining in the region.
