Custom Van Signs to Boost Branding

The Challenge:

EK Tiling are a commercial and domestic tiling company that serves the Hull and East Yorkshire region, as well as North East Lincolnshire and down south in Guildford. They were looking for custom van signs to be added to the back and sides of one of their business’ vehicles, helping to personalise and advertise their brand with relevant contact details attached. The Solution:

Once we had agreed on the required design of the custom van signs, they were printed onto regular, flat surface vinyl. This was so they could be efficiently applied to the vehicle and so the company logo, contact details and social media icons would all be clearly displayed. Following this, our Hull professionals laminated the van graphics to preserve their appearance as a reliable promotional tool for the business, protecting them from factors such as physical harm, chemical damage and the weather for a more sustained, long-term period. This is especially vital for custom van signs exposed to the outdoor elements. Adapting the lamination here also ensures the custom signs can be cleaned easily without causing any damage to the individual van graphics, further proving the enhanced durability of laminated surfaces compared to non-laminated ones.

Next, the custom van signs were fret cut using a CAD machine to carefully cut out the letters, numbers, symbols and shapes that were going to be applied to the vehicle. This type of cutting allowed for more intricacy in developing the design and it helped to bring out the van graphics so that they were more eye-catching, particularly once implemented to the vehicle’s white surface. Before applying the custom van signs, our Hull team carefully cleaned all the vehicle’s sides, to make sure for effective implementation and to again support in boosting long-term usage. This enabled the vinyl to stick properly to the van without the interference of dirty surfaces, which could lead to premature peeling or lifting.

After cleaning completion, application tape was used to transfer the fret cut custom van signs to the vehicle surfaces. Once they had all been stuck into the correct places, the tape was precisely removed to make sure the van graphics remained appropriately bonded to the surfaces and so the finished vehicle could be handed back to the customer.
