Café Custom Signs & Wall Vinyl Work

The Challenge:

NHS Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust are based in the Mansfield and Newark area. They were looking for our reliable team at FASTSIGNS® Hull to cover 2 different projects for them, one to produce some wall murals for one of their clinics and the other to create custom signs as well as daffodil-themed wall vinyls for their Daffodil Café. Here’s how we did it!

The Solution:

Once the respective project themes and designs had been approved, we got to work with the production phase of the custom visual solutions. As the wall murals for the clinic were multicoloured, they were printed out directly onto vinyl to ensure the various tones and shades would be depicted properly. Plus, for extra protection from dirt, scratches and other physical damage, the above wall vinyl was laminated to help increase its lifespan as a high-quality visual solution. This latter characteristic also allows for easier cleaning of the wall mural surface, particularly essential in the healthcare industry for ensuring consistent, well-maintained hygiene. The wall vinyl was then cut to size, before being delivered and installed to the agreed areas using ‘Hi-Tack’ adhesive, to effectively bond the completed design to the wall.

This same process was utilised for the daffodil-based wall vinyls created for the other project, applying the artworks carefully around any plug sockets or other obstructions as necessary. For the Daffodil Café custom signs, we made these from ‘foamex’ (PVC foamboard) panels which were cut to the required shapes agreed with the hospital trust. Again, the signage designs were printed onto vinyl and laminated, before applying them neatly to the face of the foamex roundels to bring a professional, quality appearance. On site, the café signs were screwed to the necessary walls with screwcaps that matched the vinyl colours, to mask these appropriately and enhance the appearance consistency of the custom signs.

The Result:

The completion of this project saw excellent outcomes for the NHS Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust, from amazing wall vinyl to professional custom sign installation of the foamex roundels.
