Gloucester Signmaker Shines at Industry Awards

A local signage production specialist has been given the accolade of FASTSIGNS’ UK Employee of the Year at the franchise giant’s annual convention and awards ceremony.

Beating stiff competition from 25 other FASTSIGNS centres, Jamie Douglas was praised by the FASTSIGNS® Gloucester franchise owners, Carolyn and David Riddell for his hard work and dedication to the team, while upholding the highest industry standards.

The award was presented at a glittering awards ceremony held at the breathtaking St George’s Park, Staffordshire.

Jamie first joined FASTSIGNS® Gloucester, which is based at Waterwells Business Park, a decade ago as an apprentice. Now, working as a production specialist, he has completed numerous industry training modules during the past 12 months, enabling him to work with industrial equipment including a scaffold tower and cherry picker. This is to facilitate the installation of the centre’s range of large-scale signage, including architectural signage and billboards, enabling the business to expand its portfolio of services.

FASTSIGNS® Gloucester was also a runner up in the race for Project of the Year. This was awarded following an ambitious rebranding project completed for Direct Online Services and its flagship brand, Worktop Express, whose offices and warehouse are based at Waterwells Business Park.

Laura Riddell, director at FASTSIGNS® Gloucester, said of the achievement:

“After such a turbulent year, it’s been fantastic to be recognised by the team at FASTSIGNS. Despite all the challenges, we’re proud of the work we’ve completed, helping lots of local businesses to realise even the most ambitious projects.

“Jamie is so deserving of the accolade, and his determination has really shone through this year. With his training we’re able to fit bigger signage and keep up with client demand. I’m excited to see where 2022 will take us as a centre, and to seeing Jamie’s career develop further.”

Staff from FASTSIGNS® Gloucester were also recognised for their commitment to high-quality customer service. On the night it was announced that they were one of a select group of other teams in the country to receive a 100 per cent Net Promoter Score via customer engagement software, Listen 360, between September 2020 and 2021.
