Duston Eldean Primary School is a mixed community primary school located in Northampton. The school works to encourage a reflective, creative, caring and respectful learning environment and came to the team at FASTSIGNS Northampton for assistance updating their school’s signage.

The Challenge

Duston Eldean Primary School wanted to Revamp their signage and make these small changes to match with their updated buildings and appear more inviting. The Primary School's essential welcome signage was old and outdated, the colours had begun to fade and the details featured on it were no longer clear. When creating the main Welcome Sign the school had to confer about the possibility of placing this in front of the fence to enhance visibility and ensure that all text could be read, this was something that the previous sign in place lacked.

Another of the school’s signs had become overgrown by the surrounding environment and was in need of replacement to be at all legible and put to good use. The school wanted this sign replaced to ensure a positive first impression for those who entered the site. The Primary school also wanted to signpost their newer buildings with their names so that navigation would be easier.

The Result

It was decided that the main welcome sign could be placed in front of the fence as this was also their property and was therefore able to provide the maximum effect with all details being clear and easy to read. However, the new sign was higher up than the previous sign and therefore all details would have been clear whether this was placed in front of or behind the fence.

This Sign has allowed visitors to distinctly see the School’s entrance and eased access to the site. The old moss covered signage panel was removed and replaced with a much more useful and aesthetically pleasing sign that draws attention to the school. The site now looks more professional and clean, providing a better first impression after the replacement of this sign. Both of the exterior buildings are now clearly labelled and match the schools branding all around the site. We also slightly modified the school's logo to fit the style and design of the signage better.
