About Thomas Farm Shop

Thomas Farm shop first began in 2014 and is a family run traditional farm and Butchers shop located in Ecton, Northampton. The shop offers a range of high quality meats to both the public and restaurants in the local area. Thomas wanted to revamp his Farm Shop to ensure that it was easily recognisable to those visiting whilst also providing a cohesive and professional look.

The Challenge

When we conducted a site visit we could see that the building already had signage in place but this was becoming old, showing signs of wear and letters had fallen off, so in order to ensure that the branding was cohesive and clear to customers we were approached at FASTSIGNS Northampton.

The shop was after multiple signs consisting of an informative roadside sign and a large front panel. The wall that would hold the large main sign was backed with wooden panels. We were informed that these would be stained black and that they would like the sign to still show off this wooden paneling behind.

The Solution

As Thomas was in need of the Roadside sign as soon as possible this was our first port of call. What we produced was an informative sign which detailed the shop's opening hours and contact details to be placed by the road near the entrance of the shop. We also created some ‘closed’ signs that will be placed on the roadside sign when the store closes.

Once this had been produced we moved onto the large Acrylic Sign. In order to prevent letters from falling down Thomas wanted this on a panel and the clear backing made sure that the wood was still visible behind. Initially there were some concerns on how this would look against the black wall, so to put his mind at ease we created a mock up of how the sign would have looked on a black background.

This eased his worries and we went ahead with the sign production. Now the store's signs are cohesive and visible to potential customers passing by.
