Examples of Our Work
Reduce Heat Build-Up
Help minimise the amount of solar energy entering through your windows, creating cooler, more comfortable indoor environments during periods of strong sunshine.
Reduce Glare
Cut distracting glare on computer screens, interactive displays and workstations, helping employees, visitors and customers stay comfortable and productive throughout the day.
Improve Energy Efficiency
By reducing heat gain through glazing, solar films can help lessen the demand on air conditioning systems during warmer months.
Enhance Year-Round Comfort
Selected films can also help reduce heat loss through glass during colder months, helping maintain a more consistent indoor temperature throughout the year.
Protect Interiors
Help protect furniture, flooring, displays, artwork and interior finishes from fading by reducing exposure to harmful UV rays.
Find the Right Film For Your Building
FAQs
Will film make rooms darker?
That depends on the film you choose. Many modern films are designed to reduce heat and glare while maintaining high levels of natural daylight. The number to look for is the VLT%. You can see an approximation of the effect of different VLT percentages below.

Can film be applied to existing windows?
Yes. It is installed directly onto existing glazing, making it a cost-effective alternative to replacing windows.
Does it help reduce screen glare?
Yes. Solar control films are particularly effective in offices, classrooms, reception areas and other environments where screen visibility is important.
Will it provide privacy?
Some reflective options can improve daytime privacy while still allowing occupants to see out.
How long does installation take?
Installation times vary depending on the size and complexity of the project, but most installations can be completed with minimal disruption to day-to-day operations.

Whether your priority is reducing heat, controlling glare, improving privacy, or maintaining the appearance of your windows, we'll help you make an informed decision. The table helps you compare various options.
TSER - TOTAL SOLAR ENERGY REJECTION
The percentage of total solar energy (including UV) that is rejected by the film. Higher is better as long as the VLT is not too low.
VLT - VISIBLE LIGHT TRANSMISSION
The amount of visible light that passes through the film. Higher percentages allow more natural light into the room.
LES RATIO - LIGHT TO ENERGY SOLAR RATIO
The ratio of visible light to solar energy that gets through. Higher is better because you get more visible light for each unit of heat.

Solar protective films specially developed for building windows are composed of rigid polyester, thus offering easy indoor and outdoor application.
These films boast remarkable durability to up to 10 years and high technicality, blocking UV rays up to 99%. This special range offers numerous benefits: UV protection, temperature control, privacy, brightness, decoration, safety (against glass breakage, thermal shocks, intrusion, scratches).
Ultra-transparent film, tinted mirror or one-way mirror appearance, dichroic effect... depending on your need Fastsigns Portsmouth offer a high-quality solution for any type of glazing.
