Large-Scale Illuminated Warehouse Signage Installation

Project Overview

FASTSIGNS® Manchester worked with Apex Self Storage at their Ardwick facility to replace outdated roadside signage with a large-scale illuminated solution designed to dramatically improve visibility.

The project involved the removal of old flat-panel signage and the installation of a 9 metre by 3 metre fully illuminated flexface lightbox on the exterior of the warehouse building. Positioned prominently along a busy roadside, the new signage ensures the facility is highly visible to passing traffic while presenting a more professional and modern appearance.

As a long-standing client, Apex Self Storage returned to FASTSIGNS® Manchester to deliver another signage upgrade for their expanding storage locations.

The Challenge

The existing signage on the roadside elevation of the warehouse had become tired and dated, no longer reflecting the professional brand image Apex Self Storage wanted to project.

In addition to the need for a visual refresh, visibility from the surrounding road network was a key factor. With the building set back and the signage positioned high on the structure, the new solution needed to be large, illuminated, and clear from distance.

The installation also presented a practical challenge. The signage location sits approximately 14 metres above ground level, meaning specialist access equipment and careful installation planning were required to safely complete the project.

The Solution

FASTSIGNS® Manchester designed, manufactured, and installed a fully illuminated flexface lightbox measuring 9 metres wide by 3 metres high, custom-built specifically for the building façade.

The signage was constructed using a high-quality flexface system with integrated LED illumination to ensure strong visibility both during the day and at night.

To achieve a crisp and durable finish, the graphic face was produced using high performance calendared digital vinyl, ensuring the branding remains vibrant and weather resistant over time.

The scale and illumination of the sign allow it to stand out clearly from the roadside, giving the site a much stronger presence.
