Custom Wall Graphics for a Live Nursery Environment in Horsham, West Sussex

The Challenge

Southwater Day Nursery required a series of nursery wall graphics in Horsham to enhance their internal spaces and align with the established branding of the iStep Learning Group.

As with other nurseries in the group, the branding was already defined, but each location requires bespoke artwork tailored to its specific layout, room functions, and wall dimensions. This meant all graphics needed to be carefully designed to fit a variety of spaces, including toddler rooms, hallways, and areas outside key rooms such as the baby room.

A key challenge for this project was that installation took place while the nursery was fully operational. Staff needed to continually move children between rooms and manage access to ensure safety, while our team worked within small, busy spaces filled with furniture, toys, and equipment.

In addition, the walls throughout the nursery featured a range of different surface textures, requiring a reliable material choice to ensure long-term adhesion.

The Solution

FASTSIGNS Tunbridge Wells designed and produced a set of custom education wall graphics in West Sussex, following iStep’s brand guidelines while adapting each design to suit the specific rooms and wall sizes within the nursery.

The graphics were primarily text-based, providing clear, engaging messaging throughout the space while maintaining consistency with the wider group branding.

All graphics were produced using Hi-Tac MD5A vinyl with a matt laminate finish, selected specifically to ensure strong adhesion across the varied wall textures found throughout the nursery. This material choice helped eliminate the risk of lifting or failure once installed.

A range of custom sizes were produced to fit each area precisely, including:

Installation was carefully managed to work around the nursery’s daily routine. Our team coordinated closely with staff, allowing them to move children safely between areas while sections of the building were temporarily worked on.

Despite the confined spaces and constant movement, the installation was completed efficiently within a single day.

The finished project delivers a clean, professional set of nursery signage and wall graphics that enhances the learning environment while staying consistent with iStep’s established brand identity.

The graphics provide clear visual communication throughout the nursery, improving the overall look and feel of the space while remaining practical and durable for everyday use.
