Ballo Oriental Foods

Signage for the New Storefront

The Challenge

Ballo Oriental Foods is a local business that was moving from an industrial unit into the local high street. They contacted FASTSIGNS St Albans as they required guidance and advice on the signage for their new store’s exterior. The customer wanted a fascia sign that would make them stand out from their neighbours. Their main goal was to “not blend in” with other businesses on the high street that had a similar brand colour scheme of green, white & black colours. Initially, they considered a more natural, wooden aesthetic for their fascia sign but decided against this option when weighing up the budget available against other suggestions that were visually more impactful.

The Solution

After a phone discussion with the client, we invited them to visit our offices so that we could walk them through the FASTSIGNS process. During this meeting, our signage experts showed the customer the options available to them, allowing them to make a more informed decision. By the end of this session, the customer understood why we recommended a fret-cut sign tray with pushed-through acrylic, illuminated letters for their fascia sign.

Ballo Oriental Food’s owners decided they wanted a smart, clean and simple look and by opting for a sign that better suited their budget requirements, over the wooden finish, we were able to recommend a second sign, that would help the food outlet to be even more visible on the high street. This illuminated, round projecting sign is positioned to the opposite end of the tray to their logo and attracts the attention of passers-by from a different angle, as well as filling available space. We recommended building their sign tray at a larger scale so that it could cover an existing old awning fixture. This has resulted in their sign being the biggest alongside that stretch of stores, giving them even more exposure.

To ensure the design was perfect, our design team created a number of mocked-up designs incorporating different colour options and variations for the client to choose from. The customer’s final choice was a stunning, bright lime green that gave a fresh, energetic look and feel, that was sure to help the client achieve their objective of standing out!

The Result

The end result is a beautiful, smart-looking fascia sign! One that communicates perfectly the aesthetic the client wanted to achieve for their new store in the high street. The sign can be seen at any time of the night or day and helps them to command the attention of the high street’s patrons.
