Row4MND Charity Boat Wrap

We’re proud to have supported Mike again and to play even a small part in helping raise funds for MND research.

FASTSIGNS® Leeds supported endurance rower Mike Bates and the Row4MND campaign by producing and installing a full vinyl wrap for his ocean rowing boat – helping raise awareness and funds for Motor Neuron Disease research.

The Challenge

Endurance rower and motivational speaker Mike Bates returned to us as he prepared for his next rowing challenge in support of Row4MND. Mike is the driving force behind the four-year campaign, inspired by Rob Burrow and Doddie Weir, which aims to raise £57 million to help find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease.

We first worked with Mike on his 2022 Atlantic row, creating graphics for the boat he rowed across the ocean. This time, he’s taking on a new route from Land’s End to John o’ Groats – part of a journey that will see him circumnavigate the UK before attempting a world-record row from New York to London in 2027.

What We Did

We wrapped Mike’s new boat in bold, high-impact graphics that celebrate the cause and highlight his sponsors. The design by Manchester artist Justin Eagleton gives it a distinctive look that makes it instantly recognisable on the water.

Working with All Print Supplies, who generously donated all the materials, we handled the production and installation free of charge. The wrap uses:

  • Fedrigoni C50 Ultimate Slide & Tack for accurate application across curves
  • Fedrigoni C30 Gloss Laminate for an extra protective layer and a smooth finish

Everything was built to last, with materials and finishes chosen for life on the water.

The Result

The finished wrap looks great – colourful, bold and made to perform. It captures the spirit of the campaign while giving Mike’s boat a standout look as it travels the coast.

We’re proud to have supported Mike again and to play even a small part in helping raise funds for MND research.

“It was a pleasure working with Mike again on such a meaningful project. We loved the challenge – you don’t get many chances to wrap a boat built for the open sea! We’re proud to have played our part and really appreciate All Print Supplies donating the materials so more money can go straight to the charity.”
