Helping Thousands of Visa Applicants Navigate with Confidence: TLS Contact's Multi-Site Signage Transformation

Author: FASTSIGNS® Hammersmith

For many people, a visit to a visa application centre UKVCAS marks the beginning of an important journey.

Whether applying to study abroad, start a new career, reunite with family, or travel internationally, visitors often arrive carrying valuable documents, working to strict deadlines, and navigating an unfamiliar process. Add language barriers, security checks, biometric appointments, and busy waiting areas into the mix, and it's easy to see how even a small amount of confusion can quickly become stressful.

That's why effective signage plays such a critical role.

When hundreds of visitors pass through a facility every day, clear wayfinding signage, intuitive navigation systems, and well-planned interior branding become essential tools for creating a smooth customer experience.

This was the challenge presented by TLS Contact, one of the world's leading providers of visa and consular services. FASTSIGNS® Hammersmith was selected to deliver a comprehensive signage programme across multiple phases, including two major installations at the Croydon Visa Application Centre and a subsequent project at the Liverpool centre.

For organisations handling hundreds of visitors every day, poor navigation can lead to longer queues, increased staff interruptions, visitor frustration, and an inconsistent customer experience. The TLS Contact project demonstrates how strategically designed wayfinding signage can solve these challenges while strengthening brand perception.

Rather than relying on individual signs scattered throughout the building, we created a complete visual communication system designed to guide applicants seamlessly through every stage of the process. From arrival and security screening to document submission, biometric enrolment and collection points, every element was carefully considered to improve navigation and reduce uncertainty.

The Croydon rollout included a wide range of custom signage solutions, including:

These elements work together to create a consistent visitor experience while helping staff manage high daily footfall efficiently.

One of the most impactful aspects of the project was the transformation of functional spaces into engaging branded environments. Through the use of wall graphics, corporate messaging, values displays, and environmental graphics, waiting areas became more informative, welcoming, and visually engaging. Rather than simply directing visitors, the graphics help communicate TLS Contact's values while creating a professional atmosphere throughout the centre.

To support these busy public-facing environments, FASTSIGNS® Hammersmith produced and installed a variety of durable signage solutions, including foam PVC panels, hanging directional signs, information boards, custom wall graphics, window graphics, and branded wayfinding systems. Every component was designed to withstand constant daily use while maintaining a premium appearance.

The relationship didn't end in Croydon. Following the successful completion of Phases One and Two, TLScontact engaged FASTSIGNS® Hammersmith for a further project at their Liverpool centre. This phase involved the production of replacement A1 promotional posters, digitally printed onto tear-resistant and water-resistant polypropylene media for an existing pavement sign. While smaller in scale, the project highlights the importance of maintaining brand consistency and high-quality visual communications across multiple locations.

What makes this project particularly rewarding is that success isn't measured by the number of signs installed. It's measured by the experience of the people using them.

Every clearly marked counter. Every directional sign. Every information board. Every visitor who finds their destination without needing assistance.

Together, these seemingly small details create a smoother, more efficient, and less stressful experience for thousands of visa applicants every year.

The completed UKVCAS programme demonstrates how professional office signage, wayfinding signage, large format printing, wall graphics, and interior branding solutions can transform complex visitor environments into spaces that feel organised, intuitive, and welcoming.

Whether supporting international visa centres, corporate offices, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, or public sector organisations, the right signage does far more than provide directions — it helps people move forward with confidence.
