When patients arrive at a GP surgery, clear and professional signage can make an important first impression. It helps people immediately identify the practice, find the entrance and feel confident that they have arrived at the right place. For The Bush Doctors in Shepherd’s Bush, FASTSIGNS Hammersmith created a complete bespoke signage solution designed to combine visibility, branding and practicality.
The project included a new illuminated fascia sign, an illuminated projecting sign, frosted window graphics and A3 poster frames, bringing several different signage elements together into one cohesive look.
The main feature is a large illuminated fascia sign, designed to give the GP surgery strong visibility throughout the day and into the evening. The fascia was manufactured from a folded aluminium signtray with 100mm returns and finished in RAL 4007 Purple Violet satin. Stencil-cut detailing was backed with opal acrylic, while the NHS rectangle featured translucent intense blue vinyl. The text and logo were designed to illuminate with cool white LED lighting, creating a crisp and highly visible finish across the front of the building.
To complement the main fascia, FASTSIGNS Hammersmith also produced an illuminated projecting sign. The double-sided sign uses opal acrylic display panels with reverse-cut translucent blue vinyl and cool white LED illumination. Projecting signage is particularly useful for premises where customers approach from different directions, giving the business additional visibility from the street. For a healthcare practice, this can make it much easier for patients to identify the surgery before reaching the entrance.
The project also included frosted window graphics, combining privacy with branding. Frosted self-adhesive vinyl panels were applied to the inside of the windows and doors, with dark purple vinyl strips positioned along the top and bottom edges. Branded logo discs were added as a second layer so that the graphics could be read from both outside and inside. This creates a clean and professional appearance while making the glass areas an integrated part of the overall signage design.
For additional flexibility, two white aluminium A3 snap frames were also installed on the outside of the glass doors. These frames provide a practical way for the surgery to display posters and information while keeping the permanent signage unchanged.
The result is a complete signage solution in which every element works together — from the illuminated fascia and projecting sign to the frosted windows and information frames. Rather than treating each sign as a separate item, the project brings the exterior of The Bush Doctors together with a consistent colour palette, professional finishes and clear visual communication.
