Crafting Clarity Streamlining Foods' Facility Production
The Challenge
Food manufacturer Arla Foods' highest priority is to maintain the integrity of their production lines and ensure that their facility not only runs efficiently but also promotes a consistent brand image throughout their production facility and office spaces. FASTSIGNS provided a wealth of signage to help Arla deliver an optimum operation over a number of years.
The Solution
To the exterior of the Dairy, FASTSIGNS installed a large totem sign and exterior building to help identify the building. Within the office space, FASTSIGNS utilised stand-off acrylic signs to showcase the Arla logo in their reception facility, as well as installing a clear wayfinding solution comprising directional signage and exterior building signs corresponding site identification signs, which helped employees and visitors as they navigated the large manufacturing facility. As with many modern office environments, balancing openness and privacy, FASTSIGNS recommended frosted window vinyl panels, which allow for glass partitions to maintain the open-plan feel of the office. However, the frosted vinyl applied to the mid-section of the glass enhanced privacy while still allowing natural light to permeate the space, making it feel open and bright, thereby creating a comfortable yet secluded environment.
When producing food products, manufacturers are held accountable for their production line process. To help store machine apparatus and tools in the manufacturing facility , FASTSIGNS provided Arla with Shadow Boards for each production line. These boards provided a space for all detachable machine parts with storage space for when they were not in use. These clever boards have become a part of the process for ensuring all items are accounted for before shift changes and have helped to reduce the risk of cross-contamination. FASTSIGNS also provided signage which encourages team members to take responsibility for their safety whilst on site, as well as providing information boards which provide key information about protocols within the facility.
The Result
In conclusion, FASTSIGNS’ comprehensive approach not only resolved the immediate challenges faced by the food manufacturer but also contributed to a more efficient, safe, and brand-consistent environment across all facilities. The project stands as a testament to the effectiveness of well-thought-out signage and organisational solutions in enhancing workplace functionality and identity.
