Creating a Recipe for Recognition and Bright Visibility with Monumental Signage

The Challenge

Relocating to a new 240,000-square-foot, purpose-built warehouse in a recently developed business park in Oldham, an innovative food manufacturing company producing ready meals, soups and sauces for the UK and beyond, faced a significant visibility challenge. The sheer scale and brand-new nature of the new premises for Greater Manchester, Inspired Global Cuisine (IGC) demanded monumental, appropriately sized and effectively displayed signage, to ensure maximum brand visibility and clear wayfinding for all customers, suppliers and employees.

The Solution

The installation was a complex, three-day effort involving a six-person team and two access machines, to install the main signage approximately 20 metres high. Building-identifying signage communicated Inspired Global Cuisine's (IGC) commanding presence at their large facility. The FASTSIGNS® Manchester team specified and installed a monumental exterior letter package with a three-metre diameter flexface, spanning a total of seven metres in width, successfully addressing the challenge of visibility for the massive warehouse.

By mounting halo-illuminated letters over flat-cut aluminium and pairing them with a face-lit flexface, the team achieved a striking, high-contrast, visual effect that identifies the building day and night. A matching, smaller set of one-metre-tall letters created a branding statement in the vast reception area to welcome and immerse visitors and a custom, illuminated post and panel sign was also installed to complete the branded experience.

The Result

The final package delivered a consistent brand presence, making the expansive facility impossible to miss. The timely completion was critical, as the monumental signs were installed before other contractors limited access, ensuring a smooth operational start.
