Total Signage Overhaul Transforms Professional Football Club
The Challenge
Crawley Town Football Club entered a transition period, following a new owner takeover. The new ownership envisioned a complete stadium overhaul, within a short amount of time. FASTSIGNS® had to execute a large volume of signage, while navigating a busy site filled with other contractors, all while maintaining discretion with confidential ownership changes.
The Solution
The FASTSIGNS design and production teams initiated a plan to coordinate the sheer scale of print and fabrication. To meet the tight deadlines, daily strategy meetings were held to ensure the workflow remained seamless. As well as the team at FASTSIGNS proactively collaborating with the Club, they were also working with multiple new sponsors on their signage and branding. FASTSIGNS took an active project management role, managing the expectations of every stakeholder, ensuring their individual visions were realised.
The transformation utilised a wide array of high-performance materials. The home and away stands were reclad in vibrant red and massive tridents were installed on the stadium exterior, to create an immediate visual impact. The east stand is dedicated to a sponsor’s brand and the signage installed includes a huge yellow and black fascia sign. The ‘Welcome’ signage cleverly uses multi-layered substrates, to create a 3D effect that catches fans’ attention, as they enter the stadium. Specialised solutions were delivered for the manager’s office, at the new training facility, to allow the coaching staff to visualise tactics with specialised tools. From exterior branding to interior graphics, every element was meticulously executed, to ensure the club’s new identity and distinct sponsor branding, were brought to life exactly as the ownership had envisioned.
The Result
The result was a total transformation of the stadium that left the club blown away. The club noted that the FASTSIGNS team felt like "part of their own team," turning a high-pressure renovation into a successful rebrand. The project also delivered cohesive branding for the club, whilst also providing dedicated platforms for sponsorship signage, rewarding partners with high-quality and highly visible branding, within the club setting. The upgraded facility now provides a high-energy atmosphere that has received overwhelming praise from fans and staff.
