Serving Up a Premier Experience with Custom Visuals for a New Sports Destination
The Challenge
Play Padel, an ambitious new sports venture, arrived with a clear architectural vision, to convert a traditional tennis facility, into a cutting-edge four-court padel centre. While they had high-quality renderings of their desired result, they needed a signage partner capable of translating those digital concepts into a physical reality, within a set budget. The project required a comprehensive suite of visuals, that would work across varied environments—from high-impact interior feature walls and hospitality areas to roadside visibility—all while navigating technical installation hurdles as the courts were being constructed.
The Solution
The FASTSIGNS® team acted as a strategic consultant to bring this vision to life. The client requested a large, illuminated internal flex-face sign, along the main wall to anchor the interior and provide a focal point that establishes the energetic atmosphere. To ensure perfection and client satisfaction, multiple iterations were worked through, to achieve the exact colour profile required and access equipment was used to complete the final installation. The atmosphere was further enhanced with a trendy neon sign, in the reception area and contour-cut ACM branding for the bar area, mounted on standoffs to create a premium, three-dimensional effect.
To stay within budget and capture the attention of passing traffic, existing site architecture was utilised, to install high-visibility roadside ACM panels. Functionality was blended with style through the use of etched vinyl manifestations on the court exterior, some of which were reverse-printed to ensure a uniform look. These ensure player safety, by making the glass visible while maintaining a uniform, sleek aesthetic. Even the temporary adjustments became a permanent success; window vinyl originally designed to hide the construction process, proved so popular with the client, that some of them were kept as a permanent feature.
The Result
The completed project has transformed the space into a high-energy sporting hub that has quickly gained national attention. The illuminated statement wall has become a viral backdrop, appearing in social media posts from sporting legends like Joe Root and Jessica Ennis. By providing a mixture of custom in-house manufacturing and specialist vended products, FASTSIGNS delivered a high-end solution that stays true to the client's original vision, while providing clear wayfinding and a vibrant atmosphere, for both players and spectators.
